I am back in LA (and I have been for some time..). Had some trouble getting motivated to work after my fun trip to Sweden. I started with a solid week of preparing a publicity presentation for work that I was presenting at the Siggraph conference. I tried not to decide what show to go on for about two weeks and did a pretty good job until the middle of the second week when my manager was really pressing me for a decision. I guess he was getting a lot of pressure too, so I kind of had to choose. I chose to go onto 2012 as FX Lead. It is a giant show. Lots of really heavy fx work, so definitely a challenge. Anyway, after being in LA for two weeks it was time for Siggraph. Fredrik made it over for Siggraph and stayed at my house during the whole conference. That was fun. Siggraph was fun too. Relaxing to not have a big presentation this year.
After that I got really busy at work setting up the new show. No overtime work though thank god. I don't want to do that for a loooong time. My shoulder is getting better now so I actually went surfing a while ago. It went well so I am going to go tomorrow again. Hopefully I can get back into it pretty quick.
Summer is almost over (doesn't mean much here) but the water is still warm and nice so I am swimming in it every weekend still. Pretty nice. I am actually looking forward to some colder weather, but that will still take a while.
I'll try to update my blog a bit more frequent again now. I have been a bit bad at updating it lately :)
